VW Passat 2002 Fault Codes?

VW Passat 2002 Fault Codes?...  Hi All
Can anyone help or some advice, had to replace my temperature sensor on car today as the dash sensor was not recording any temperature, the pin did not move when driving, this problem seems to have been fixed with replacing the sensor. The problem however is the clip that goes over the sensor is broken so have to get one from the dealer, waiting on this to be done due to Sat and need to change it, upon checking the sensor though with mechanic it is holding in tightly, with the rubber seal but am worried the clip is missing, and worried it may fall out which could cause major issue with water pouring out.

I have also found the ESP light has now come on since replacing the sensor, it was raining when done the job so not sure if this could be connected.

Can anyone advise re both points, it is a 1.9TDI VW Passat 2002

How do you turn traction control on or off (other than the button) didnt know you could? I dont have a manual unfortunately, the guide with the car dont go in to detail like that

1)   esp is related to traction or stability control not related to coolant sensor.check your owners manual. - turkus07

2)   You can bind it with tape or a fashion a cable tie around it. You will probably find that you have turned your traction control off, check your manual to show you where the push button is to turn it back on. - L G

3)   I think this car is to technical for you, get a scooter one with no mechanical parts - A

1)   No, it does not. The injection pump actually serves the purpose as the lift pump to draw fuel from the tank.

I've had to do this research because I'm working on sticking that exact engine in a jeep cherokee 4x4...moderately modified, of course. - Sean

3)   Sean is dead on. The injection pump does all the work on your motor, which is why is can be a fail point, though usually not until 150,000+ miles. Even then, as long as you've used good fule and taken care of your fuel filter on a regular basis, you should be good to go. - Richard R

1)   The info is in your vehicle handbook. The trick with any job like this is not to force things when you open the plastic case just in case you break any of the "lugs" . - L G

3)   on the back if its a flip style you can pry the key part out lightly. then pull the part on the back and you'll see two small batteries - Volkswagen
