The Doors or The Beatles?

Question 1
The Doors or The Beatles?...  In my opinion The Doors!!BIG TIME!!

Answers
1)   i love how this went to the volkswagen section...

um the doors i guess. - Till Lindemann

2)   Idiotttttttttttt.

First of all, wrong section. Second of all, this is no contest. The Beatles were far superior. Better sound, more good songs, better songs, etc. I could go on and on for days. - AS

3)   theyre both great in their own way. its no question which band was/is bigger however. - Mike

4)   The Beatles <3 - Cortne

5)   The Beatles .. I mean volkswagen! - Two of Us

6)   Doors - Four guys making that much music always amazed me. They rose above the perpetual stupor and raving monotone of Jim Morrison to generate some great songs.
Beatles - Far ahead of their time, musically complicated but their songs are timeless.

It's a tie.

This question could have been asked in the proper forum. - Arthur O

Question 2
vw headlights keep blowing?...  my vw new beetle keeps blowing

Answers
1)   are u making sure u don't touch them with ur fingers or anything other than a paper towel or lint free cloth when u install them???

cas oil form ur fingers or anything else will cause them to blow quite quickly.... - Karle

2)   Sounds like you have a wiring issue. It's grounding out before it gets to the destination. In other words a short. - William

3)   ok heres the scoop, check the wire is true but also check the fuse box to see if the lights fuse is blown. If it is, replace it. Start there. - mcgwirelover

4)   What year is your VW Beetle? There are some that have some serious electrical issues. Check the ground wiring to the headlights and check the right size fuse is being used as well. You can try replacing the current fuse with a smaller one to trigger the fuse to burn instead of the headlight, while it wont solve your problem 100% it will make it a lot cheaper until you figure it out. - alexpassini

Question 3
how to install a cold air intake on a 1995 jetta GL III?...  I have a jetta 2.0 jetta GL III, and I want to install a cold air intake. Is this good for the vehicle? Which one should i get? how do i know if i have the right one?

Answers
1)   cut airbox mod with k&n panel filter man, dont even waste your money on a cai.

edit: performance wise, itll add about 5hp and some better throttle response. get on vortex and search "cut airbox mod". - Mike

2)   its easy to replace take your old filter out with the box and hose too and replace it with the cold air intake. But look around autozone.com, napa.com, ect. for the best one. Also try Ebay. - mcgwirelover

3)   please talk to your mechanic, you will not get the performance you want out of some sewerpipe with a filter stuck on it, we get questions every week sometimes multiple times a day, from people who have problems with computer issues, or worse. You can lean out your motor, and smoke a piston (burns a hole in it, and no compression. The problem is this stuff does not work, unless you are at wide open throttle, so do you plan to blast around town, foot to the floor, going cool, that fake cold air intake works right on? or save your money, and use it for gas. Those computer chips are bogus too, yes they may help, on a HIGH PERFORMANCE RACING ENGINE. but Im pretty sure that's not what you have. Please look at the stock air box, it goes over to the inner fender, or possibly to the front of the engine, this is a real, cold air filter. Think about this for a minute, if any of this crap worked, don't you think it would be on ALL NEW CARS NOW TOO???? - dick car guy

Question 4
Are most VW beetles Standard or Automatic?...  What aree they? Is stick hard to drive???

Answers
1)   Most of the older ones are standard but on newer ones both are common.

Stick is not hard at all on these little cars. My wife got one a couple of years ago and had never driven a stick before, within a week she was completely comfortable with it - UT-TEX

2)   My '55 VW is a stick. Most air-cooled ones are. The "automatic" is an auto-shift. They're pretty cool, but very different. I've driven them, but never owned one, though I'd like to.

Mine isn't difficult at all. The clutch plate has springs, and it's very forgiving. I can just about pop the clutch in first without any chatter every time.

The speedo has little red bars that tell you when to shift to 2nd, 3rd & 4th. It's really a no-brainer.

I've owned it since I was a hippy in 1974, but my wife wants me to sell it. I'm going to miss Adolf, he's been a good friend. - Pilgrim

3)   In USA, mostly automatic. But there are manual VW Beetles to be found. As for the difference in driving experience, I have only ever owned manual cars and refuse to own an automatic. They are positively boring to drive compared to manuals. It really is so much easier to learn to drive a manual than most people say. I had it down in less than a week of normal driving. And may I say that you will be repaid many times over in driving pleasure for this one week of learning. Good luck in your search, and please think outside of the (automatic gear)box (: - Adrien

Question 5
Is this Volkswagen Jetta worth buying? Are KM too high?...  My car just died on me, and I need a new one. I really really like Jettas. My brother and law and my boyfriend are telling me that this car I found and really really like has too many KM. However the guy selling it, is a really nice old man, and I doubt hes just saying this so Ill buy the car, but he said that all the major things have been fixed, so it shouldnt be a problem that its over 200,000 KM.

Can someone who knows about cars look at this add for me, and let me know what you think?

1)   200k is not usually a big deal. However, Volkswagen has a reputation of being unreliable. I used to have a 2003 Polo and had a million problems in one year of ownership.
I will any day buy a Toyota, Nissan or Honda over Volkswagen. - Sprinter

2)   What year is it? I had an 87 GTI with 386,000 KM on it when it gave me trouble. And it only did so becuase I drove it like a dog.

VW's are just as reliable as any Japanese car, IMHO. - John B

3)   You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here - carquotes.fateback.com - Vins
