life expectancy volkswagon tdi engine?

Question 1
life expectancy volkswagon tdi engine?...

Answers
1)   I can drain the oil and blow it up in about 15-20 min?
I can baby it along and do the correct maintainance and make it 300k
I could run it decent all day long with no maintainance and get about 100k
I could beat the crap out if with regualar maintanance, and get 150k

maintanance, driving habits, city vs highway traffic/miles, type of oil used....

alot of variables, but most diesels will make it well past 150k without many problems. - Justin

2)   100K miles on a diesel is considered barely broken in. As long as the car has been well maintained you can expect 200K-300K miles out of a TDI - Scott W

3)   My '01 has about 175k right now and I would have no problem jumping in it and driving anywhere you'd ask me to.

The first answer is perfect, really. - Richard R

6)   All your previous answers are good however the turbo will last around 150,000 + before needing replacing , the engine itself if looked after will do 300,000 easy - Barking_Dog

Question 5
does a performance chip void a new car warranty?...  2010 camaro v6

Answers
1)   It won't its undetectable and some can be remove. I doubt your average dealership would invest money into dynometers and laptop software. You would usually just service your car oil change, sparkplugs. Check brakes top up fliuds etc. - DrkLce

2)   Yes.

A different chip is easily identifiable, and as the dealer plugs into the diagnostics socket, the car will tell them! Chipping alters all the ignition mapping! - The Nebulous Thrug

3)   Yes, if your warranty claim is against something that the chip may have effected. It won't invalidate claims for suspension or paint for example as the chip does not effect either. - vavavoom
