Question 1
Will it look funny if a woman in her 50s bought a new VW GTI?...  I am considering buying a 2011 Volkswagen GTI but I am concerned that others will think that it is a bit young for a woman my age. I love the car but am concerned that it would look foolish. I don't want to be like those woman who try to relive their golden years by wearing their daughter's hollister shirt if you know what I mean. i'd appreciate any help. thanks

5)   the make determines the mileage not the color?! So the SUV gets less than say the rabbit. I have a jetta it get about 35 miles/gallon highway which is great! - instantkarmah

7)   It take it you mean green as in allegedly friendly towards the environment. The VW cars are all called "Blue Motion" in Europe and the Blue motion Passat (diesel) did something like 1400 miles on one tank of fuel in a recent test making it the most economic car of its type. - L G

Can I put valvoline fully synthetic oil 5W30 in a volkswagen jetta 03 1.8?...

1)   Castrol Syntec 5-40 would be better as it is Vw approved.
I tend to stay away from Valvoline just out of personal preference.
My vr6 loves Syntec 5-40, so that's what i feed it. - playsguitars

Yes you can use valvoline Synthetic 5W-30 in your turbo. Works great and meets all VW requirements.

I sell Valvoline(and use Mobil One) so even I can be brand picky. If Mobil One didn't exist I would use Valvoline. I use Valvoline in my conventional oil cars....

Don't worry and don't let people push you around on Brand.

3)   Yes you can. Once you use a synthetic oil in any car, you should always use synthetic oil thereafter. Don't go back to conventional oil. - dewhatulike

hi i have a 2005 vw golf there is small spanner symbol on the dash?...  its on the part of the dashboard where the mileage is,also there are numbers that go down 1 a day counting down ,i dont think its due a service for 5000 miles ?

1)   When the spanner is on after the engine has started it is due for a service no matter what you think. - Timbo is here

2)   Yes its due for a service,I had the same thing. - The Wail of a Banshee

3)   The spanner symbol means it is due a service, if there is numbers counting down this is the amount of miles left before the service is due.

It works like this to allow you time to get the car booked in for a service. - Alan
