Question 3
When I lock my VW Golf mk3 all the windows open?...  I have a VW mk3 Golf GTI 8v (1996).
The back door, drivers side, the lock is a bit dodgy and seems to only unlock sometimes. But also sometimes when I lock the car all the windows open, (both front, both rear).

Could anybody please shed some light on this?

Thank You

Answers
1)   Man,get your remote locking cheaked as it may be the coz. - Ajay Gupta

2)   There is a facility when using your key in the door lock to roll your windows up. This is done by keeping the key turned in the lock direction. This action activates a relay, if you are getting the reverse then it is fair to say that relay is probably faulty. The relays are behind the panel to the right of the steering wheel near the fuse box. It is a case of identifying the relay and maybe visiting a breakers yard to find another one.You should be able to find which relay by pulling them out in turn and seeing when the problem stops. - L G

3)   If you hold it in the lock position it will put then up. and if you hold it in the unlock position they go down if you turn it unlock once and let of and hold it over in the unlock the front should just go down... thats what my jetta does anyway - Volkswagen

Question 4
air conditionig for old beetle?...  n

Answers
1)   vintageair.com? - Bleed the Freak

2)   yes they can have a/c but if you are a person that needs an ice cold a/c dont buy an air cooled bug to put one in. they are already not very powerful and putting an a/c in there will only reduce the power even more and put unnecessary strain on the engine. they didnt come from factory with a/c for a reason....and that is that you DONT need a/c. i drive my 1970 bug every day and have never wanted an a/c. i live in Pennsylvania and it got into the high 90's to low 100's over the summer this year and i was fine - Air-Cooled (o\ ! /o)

3)   More trouble than its worth!! - Richard G

Question 5
Do the new VW beetles have low bucket seats ?...  I have 2003 vw beetle and am getting custom seat covers made and neede to know if it had low bucket seats and how you were able to tell ?

Answers
1)   if this is about the camo seat covers still DONT DO IT. sorry but it will look pretty dumb - Air-Cooled (o\ ! /o)

2)   Seat covers are usually universal fit and the only criteria is the headrests. Most cars are a kind of semi bucket seat and the sports derivative tend to have bucket seats. Bucket seats have a built up section either side on the base and small "wings" protruding forward on the seat back that fit snugly against your rib cage. - L G

3)   You might want to think twice about this endeavor- you have side airbags, and if you put covers on the seats, it will defeat the purpose of having them. - djaca70
