Car full beam Symbol?

Question 1
Car full beam Symbol?...  I have my piratical test tomorrow and was doing some show me tell me questions. Im confused what the full beam symbol is. There is a 3 line D symbol and a 4 line D symbol do they both mean full beam? On my dads and instructors car it displays 3 line D symbol on the dashed board for full beam. So what the hell is the 4 line D symbol for?

Answers
1)   probably full beam with full strength fog lights - DangerousDave

2)   on a vw it should be the 3 line symbol on the indicator stalk to be pulled forward for the full beam. Its not a D its supposed to be the shepe of the headlight lol.
the 4 line could be the rear fog light. that should be on the switch for turning the dipped beam/headlights on.
good luck with your test.
if u understand this and its not right, try it vice versa, 3 line = full beam. 4 line = rear fog. - Aimo

3)   full beam is a blue light on dash i have my practical in a week gd luck - SARAH STARR

4)   Full beam warning is usually blue and points left. Front fog light warning is usually yellow or orange and also points left. Rear fog light warning is usually red and points right. - Stephen L

5)   The full beam symbol on the dash always lights up Blue on all cars.

Question 2
I'm 16 and considering buying a 1979 VW bus. Would this be a good choice for a vehicle?...  What would be the Mpg, cruise speed, upkeep cost, life expectancy? Also would it be able to take a 300 mile road trip?

Answers
1)   This bus is twice as old as you are. If it is im good shape and has been well maintained, it should do you well. Earlier bus's were very underpowered . This one should be no speed demon, but able to travel at highway speed and get descent milage compared to SUV's (but not as good as a small hatchback). I would have it fully inspected and try it on shorter trips to discover any problems, But after that I would check the tires and fluids, then take the 300 mile trip (or a 3000 mile trip.) - jimanddottaylor

2)   not a good daily driver - pickmefirstplz

3)   as far as life expectancy goes, you have to ask:

a. how many miles are on it already?
b. Is it the original engine/transmission? - ron

4)   You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here - carquotes.sinfree.net - Tim

Question 3
VW Beetles anybody ? whats your opnion on them ?...  The newer kind ? are they a good or bad car what ?

Answers
1)   I love them. - Kelsey

2)   They're all about the look. In terms of the driving experience, the New Beetle is quite bland. It's competent, but nothing special. Luggage space is poor, as is rear seat head room. Build quality and reliability is generally excellent. Easy to drive. Get one if you love the styling, otherwise you'd be better off with a Golf. - bugmatic

3)   mind blowing cars........ - Quiana Tavitian

4)   Ill take herpes instead - DAT GUY

Question 4
What should I know before I buy rims for my New Beetle?...  I can't say I know anything about wheels, I've always thought wheel bolt patters where generally the same size on all cars and small trucks, 5 bolts, same spacing between bolts. Then there's the 8 bolts on larger trucks and what not, and then so on and so forth. Though, I've recently went shopping for rims, and it seems every vehicle has it's own pattern. What I really want to know, is what specs do I need to know about my New Beetles wheels when buying new rims? To guarantee I buy the ones that will fit. Or maybe there's a parts site that sells wheels specifically for Volkswagens?

Answers
1)   THROW ON SOME 22'S BABY!!! - N3kras

2)   .. there is not much to know about rims.. your VW is a 15" or 14" I'm guessing. if you get bigger rims it won't make a difference. you don't have to get the same size as your car's original size rims. you can if you want and you are able to get bigger size rims. - Bee

3)   cost........ - Quiana Tavitian

Question 5
VW what do you think of them ?...  everything about them like the way they look ??

Answers
1)   They're cute cars. They're usually on the smaller side & they seem very cozy. Unfortunately, they don't have great safety ratings. - Peter Rabbit

2)   Well it depends on what kind you are asking about. However we are a VW family and like them all! Started with a 1968 VW Bug and then they multiplied like "bugs" do. We added 2 - 1967 bugs and I fully restored one of them and my son made a baja bug out of the spare parts left over on the other one. Then added a 1989 Golf, 1990 Golf GTI, 1990 Jetta Wolfsburg Edition, 1982 Caddy "VW truck", another 1968 VW Bug, and a 1990 Vanagon.

Talked my parents into buying a 2010 Jetta TDI and they love it too.

They are cheap, well made (if you get the ones made in Germany) and long lasting! I mean where do you ever hear of a 40+ year old vehicle getting 35 MPG? There is a whole "following" out there of VW clubs for air cooled or water cooled models and its kinda like joining a family when you buy one...especially the older ones. They are easy to work on and I think a great car for kids to learn on, cheap to register and insure too. There is so much to like and since your question was very vague I am not sure what you want to know....all I have to say is YES! :) - peppertaz
