Question 1
how do you start a 1968 volkswagon bug does it take a battery push start idk it will not start?...

Answers
1)   If you have a hot battery & the motor turns over. check to see that you have a spark to the plugs. Next make sure that you have gas going into the crab. If the motor will not turn over you may have Internal engine problems. sucked Valve a common on VWs - C.J.

2)   Make sure you have a spark, pump the gas pedal a couple times, dump a little gas in the carb and turn the key. .use another car to jump start it if required. The battery should be under the back seat. - doane_nut

Question 3
2000 Vw Jetta 2.0 Engine Code P0302?...  I have a 2000 Vw Jetta 2.0 92k. When I just start the car, the engine shakes and a code P0302 showed up. When the engine is warm ( 2 min later) the engine works fine, it does not shake. What can be the problem.

Answers
1)   it's a miss fire code coming from your #2 cylinder,
everything your gonna check is from cylinder #2 so find out wear it is.
hear are the possibilities...
bad spark plug wire #2
bad #2 coil
bad #2 spark plug
these are the simple ones and to figure out if it is the problem will take some patience and time
so go borrow that scan tool for the fix
you will need to swap each one of these items to another cylinder at separate times to verify when the code changes to another cylinder without buying these parts. so swap coils if they are individual example move #4 to #2 if the code changes to #4 then its the coil, if the code stays the same the coil is good, but sometimes the coil could have an intermittent fault meaning it's going out but not bad. do the same thing with each other item and retest once the code moves you found the problem. that is what the technicians do.. good luck - So Cali Guy

2)   code po302 cylinder number 2 misfire detected conditions - chevyman

3)   In a 2000 2.0 there is only 1 ignition coil pack. There is no four coils. If you change the spark plugs, wires, ignition coil pack, injector for the second cylinder and check all the connections and nothing changes, this means that air is leaking in through the upper or lower intake manifold. You have to take it apart and change the gasket. - VW Man

Question 4
This question is for "the car nut" who knows all about VW's Please answer my question!?...  I figured since you know all about VW's you might be able to answer this question. I have a 2000 VW Jetta 1.8T and when I start it up in the morning the temp. light goes on automatically almost every time. It beeps and flashes for about 3 minutes and then, when the car starts to warm up it goes off. After that first start up the light won't go on again, usually, sometimes is does, sometimes my check engine light goes on too, that's happened twice during this whole situation too, goes on for a few days then goes off. Another thing it does is lately if I sit in traffic the temp. goes up, just a little, it's only happened twice because I pull over, or if I'm on the freeway the temp will go below normal. I'm not sure my fans are going on because when I pull my car over I turn it off then turn the key all the way but not on and my fans will usually come on when its hot, but it's not doing that, although it does come on when the air conditioner is on. I just don't know what it could be! I'm sorry for so much writing but I want to get the right answer so you need the info. Also, I've just replaced my intercooler, radiator, thermostat, water pump, engine, EVERYTHING!, so I'm thinking it must be a sensor on my fans???? I also have the correct amount of anti-freeze water mix with the right kind of VW anti-freeze. Please let me know that you think! Thank you! Selling the car soon, sick of fixing it just want it to be running for the next person.

1)   Coolant temp. sensor - trish225522000

2)   1st never add water to any cars engine, there made from alloys and water has too many additives.
2nd, take the car back to who ever did the work you listed. With that much done you should have some recourse.
Last, let go of this car, Ive got a bus at this time and it's an old 78 that's in great shape.
The water has my bet as to why your having cooling trouble, like I said there is way too much crap in the water. - DR DEAL

Question 5
diesel mechanics help please?...  i am going to lincoln tech in IN to become a certified diesel technician next fall but i would like some advice or anything that would help me become one seance haven't had much experience working on them mostly just with cars and engines

Answers
1)   I too came from L/TECH took the auto program but started working in the diesel field for the airlines while in school. Diesel tech jobs are stable, pay is good and you don't bounce around like auto mechanics. As for working on diesel it's easy, think out side of the box when looking for a job, big trucking companies (fedex, ups) steady pay check no book time. Airlines (travel benefits), Locomotive great pay good pension. I keep my skills up to date with the auto and diesel, as they say it's all nuts and bolts.
Hope this helps, pay attention in class if it's anything like it was back in the day keep away from the ones that cause distractions your spending some money to get the education but in the long run it will pay off believe me.
Need any advice drop a line... - mx

2)   After Driving and repairing mine for 20 years, Timing is every thing.

Good luck. - Briano
