Question 2
I'm thinking about buying a used 05 VW Jetta, I was wondering if they are realiable? I usually drive chevys.?...

Answers
1)   Have personally seen many VW over 100k miles, but there is no one reliable car, reliability is very determined by how well the car has been taken care of. I check edmunds.com and JDpower and do research on reviews to find out what people tend to replace the most. Goodluck in your search and hope it works out good for you. - Jimmy R

2)   when your buying used cars type into search box
how to check used car

wil get a checklist help you look for signs of problems then you know shape of car before you buy it just as realiable chevy just that parts wil cost you more can type year model problems with any car an dfind whats been said about any car problems - kelly_f_1999

3)   Anything man made is not reliable. Anything is better than the newer chevy's though. VW are a good performance car, if you want to go with a jetta get a diesel that will last you forever. I would go with Nissan, Toyota, or Honda cars, if you really want a Chevy though the Monte Carlo is probably your best choice. - Michele

4)   Mine (an 84) went 720K miles on same engine. Body rusted away. I think that speaks for itself. - Lam Sanders

5)   i think an 05 vw can be reliable if u maintain it properly. both the end of the 4th generation and the beginning of the fifth generation started in 2005 so u r either looking at a mk4 2005 vw or a mk5 2005.5 vw.

ive read that the late mk4s work better than the early mk4s after problems with the early mk4s(electrical/auto transmissions) were more or less fixed by the end of the generation. and the mkV 2005.5 is most likely to run better than early mkIV's but i dont know much about the fifth generation. - Mike

Question 3
What do i do to add more horse power to my vw r32?...  Hi, i need to no how to add horsepower to a 04 vw r32 im in the process off adding some mods..i added an intercooler anf a blo off valve and im addinga cool air intake but what else

how much horse power will an exhaust give?
how about an air filter?? what is an airfilter??
and how about other mods what will give me more hp on a bugget!!

Answers
1)   If you added an intercooler and a blow off valve...You forgot the part about a turbo, lol. An air filter does just as it says, filters intake air. I can't really give exact numbers on intake and exhaust systems, but you will have a gain. I would say "roughly", maybe 15-20hp gain. And for other stuff on a "bugget"..budget, you could get higher rate spark plugs, spark plug wires, ECU reflash or chip, and like you said an exhaust and intake. Don't just think about horsepower though. The more hp you add, you better be able to stop it and steer it. Put some money in your brakes and suspension too. - Calvin W

2)   your R32 has a naturally aspirated V6 engine. Intercooler & BOV will not help.

Exhaust can give a few HP. CAI's give a few HP.....
If you really want more HP, you gotta spend the money... perhaps a VF Engineering Supercharger. - cant_think_of_1

3)   You should do your exhaust which will give you anywhere from 15 to 20 hp but a significantly noticeable modification that can be done is a chip like "Revo" or "Unitronic" they should cost anywhere from $300 to $800.00.
An air filter would replace your air cleaner box which will expose the actual filter eliment in the engine compartment, therefor you would get more air in your engine

L - Prince$$

4)   You put turbo accessories on an NA car? I'm confused...

Cold air intakes and exhaust won't give you much more power, they will just make the car sound faster. The factory intake and exhaust aren't restrictions on the R32. You can wire up a switch to the flapper valve in the exhaust so you can open the exhaust up all the time instead of just under load, that is a nice budget mod.

When it comes to the .:R, you gotta pay to play. For big power you'll need either a worked big valve head, high compression pistons, big cams, bigger injectors etc, or go with a forced induction setup like someone suggested before me.

If I were you, I'd get a set of used Schrick cams and a chip to match them. You'll spend under a grand and have a real power increase, not just a noise increase. - Nick

5)   Sell it and get a WRX or Evo?
Just sayin. - Jay S

Question 4

Answers
1)   It is working. It illuminates the sign. Don't press it again if you want the respect of your fellow motorists. - Derke N

2)   when you press it only the control on drivers door will work windows so the kids in the back cant put the windows up or down with the buttons on the back doors - ivortskivor

3)   Hello

Nearly right
Both front windows will work normally but it cuts the rear ones and you have the 2 back ones to control them
If you check the windows sat in the back and they do not work, Press oblong button then try again if they now work, leave if you want them to stay like that

Andy C - ANDY

4)   On my car, it locks all windows, except the drivers. I suppose like many other things, operation varies from make to make. - TM

Question 5
New headlights (bulbs) for 2005.5 vw new jetta?...  one of my DRL burnt out .. so I figure I may as well replace all of my lights, I want to replace the stock lights with some more crisp white ones
(not that annoying blue)

I just want them to look really nice and not have that stock yellowed color to them

what type of bulbs do you suggest??

Answers
1)   Sylvania Silverstars but they are hard to find now. They have a new brand that is similar though. I think they are Sylvania Super Whites or something like that. - Jordan C

2)   Be careful, I used to work at Volkswagen and have seen a bunch of these "white" bulbs burn up the socket and or connector. - blah

3)   halogen or hd whites, super whites, check laws in ur area as some r illegal...can b found in better parts stores or other aftermarket sources like jc whitney, zenon, sylvania r name brands. - ramcharger

4)   H7 bulbs... frankly, the "blue", "superwhite", 4000K bulbs, etc... all come at the penalty of drastically shortened lift.

A standard H7 bulb lasts on average 500 hours. A long-life H7 lasts 1000 hours.

A sylvania silverstar bulb lasts on average 150 hours!!! It is a consequence you have to accept-- replacing more expensive bulbs more often.

so... you can turn off the DRLs by recoding the Central Electronics Control Module. You can ask the dealership to do this (maybe get charged 1 hour of labor) or find someone with a VAG-COM (Micro-CAN or HEX-CAN) to do it. - cant_think_of_1
