William Gates III
Rank: 1 Net Worth: $40.0 bil, Fortune: self made

Warren Buffett
Rank: 2 Net Worth: $37.0 bil, Fortune: self made

There is another website that says Warren Buffett is the richest, and Bill Gates the 3rd richest.

Financially, at any given time it could be Gates, Buffett, Slim or a handful of others. In any case he's probably not driving a Volkswagen (the topic of this forum).

Welfare programs will often match a down payment for vehicles if it will improve your life and help you take care of yourself and be less government dependent. If you are disabled or on a fixed or low income I would call and ask. Its worth a shot
Try Goodwill or Salvation Army for assistance. Its out there you just have to do a lot of leg work
DO NOT ACCEPT EMAILS REGARDING THIS MATTER. IT IS PROBABLY PHISHING.

These days, it is almost impossible to stay out of debt; outside pressures from family or work can sometimes be the cause. All is not lost if you have acquired a bad credit score; there are many online bad credit loan lenders to help. Money provided to a person experiencing financial hardship is no different to any other type of loan and can be used by the applicant in the same way.

There are other reasons bad credit loans may be required such as for domestic emergencies, unforeseen circumstances or for consolidating previous debts. It is not uncommon for a person to arrange a loan just so they can repair their damaged credit history. They may not require the money for any specific situation.

VW Beetle - I want it to wheelie!!!?

Im looking to build a VW Beetle based beach buggy, and was wondering just how powerful it would have to be to wheelie? Im guessing the stock motor wouldn't do it.

Any suggestions?

Asked by: Dave W @ 2009-05-07 06:42:59

Answers ::
Has more to do with weight distribution and gearing. Torque is more important than power where wheelies are concerned.
Keep the front end as light as possible and run a lower first gear.
It will handle poorly and be as good at going round corners as most straight line dragster cars though
Timbo is here

Not sure but the stock motor wouldnt, I have a 1598cc 1302S beetle and its 0-60 in 3 hours. I would put a subaru engine (requires a radiator then) or an aircooled porsche engine.

Get your self to the shop and buy volksworld, always some good custom beetles in there...
VDubber82

you can buy one on ebay don't have to build from scratch:)

If you build it right, you can do a wheelie with a lawn mower engine, but the bigger answer is WHY.

THe car will not drive right and once it is up you run the risk of loss of control because the center of balance is now BEHIND the car. (makes it hard to come back down unless you hit the brakes).

But it CAN be done. Tube frame the front, reduce as much weight there as possible. Remove the body panels, glass, windshield, etc.. Build more weight in the engine area (behind the transaxle wheels by relocating things there (spare tire, gas tank (ouch. not a great idea but it does move about 80 lbs of gas), building a roll cage around you and the engine, and so on.

Move the seats back close to or over the transaxle.

Your car will stand up.. but it will no longer be street legal.

p0420 keeps coming back on my VW?

it's a 2001 1.8t. I bought the car in Feb, dealer replaced the cat because of this code. A week ago, it started skipping and I replaced a coil. 4 days later, the car started throwing a p0420. Could I have a sensor issue or did I kill the cat?
I changed the air filter, could not locate any leaks (air or Exhaust), I did have a valve cover leak, changed the cover gasket. I know for a fact that they did not scam me, I saw them change it out.
Alicia, Sorry it's a 2001 Jetta GLS 1.8 turbo. How do I tell if the front sensor has gone by the way?

Asked by: camjam93 @ 2009-05-05 20:47:17

probably your sensors
always remember that cats never commit suicide they are always murdered lol
the dealer should of fixed what killed you cat
possible running rich or you have an oil leak?
this coulda killed your cat hehe

Catalyst below threshold bank one. You either have 2 cats. or the dealer scammed you and just cleared the code. Sensors tell you the problem. If a sensor is bad it will tell you so.
tronary

Help me out here, what model? Passat or Jetta/Golf/Beetle ?
The Passat 1.8T only has 1 cat that is mated up to the Turbo. They usually don't just die. They can get plugged with carbon from a Rich condition but that's due to something else completely. Usually its the front O2 Sensor that fails but doesn't die and causes a rich condition and this is picked up by the rear sensor. The ECM then assumes the CAT isn't working properly and sets that fault.

My guess is the front O2 sensor is causing the car to run rich, which is probably fouling the plugs, which would cause the (known issue) coil to finally fail. Ultimately you have an issue that is causing the cat to fail and the car to run rich. The item that takes the most abuse is usually the one to cause problems. In this case its the front O2 sensor.

Now if its a Jetta/Golf/Beetle, it can be abit harder. Ive seen MAF sensor's read higher Grams Per Second and fool the ECM into thinking more air was going in then it was and causing fuel trim issues, then leading to this Efficiency fault. In short, can be a few things in the Jetta platform car. Without getting to diagnose it in my shop its abit hard, just guesses right now.

EDIT: Unless you have a factory scan tool or VAG-Com to watch Measure Value Blocks, you cant. We can at the dealer, you would watch the Lambda numbers under light and heavy loads. Id also look at the MAF g/s at idle... Rather hard over the net. Oh ya, you only have 1 cat, the guy above me is incorrect....
One more question for you... is any of the exhuast piping dented or kinked? Like in a rear collision? I ask because of excessive back pressure.....

Volkswagen Jetta VR6 VS. Volkswagen Jetta 1.8T?

Im looking to buy a 2002-2004 black jetta 1.8T or VR6 with moonroof, leather interior automatic car that would be PERFECT.

now my question here is
what is the difference between a vr6 and a 1.8T ?

ive heard a few jettas run and when they begin to accelerate, i can hear the LITTLE engine run kind of sounds like a little toy car.
but i dont want my jetta to sound that way so i was wondering if i got the vr6 or 1.8t it would have more power???

Asked by: Mitcha @ 2009-05-05 23:56:38

Answers ::
1.8T
- Better tunability
- Lighter weight
- Better fuel economy
- Cheaper to maintain. ( 2 less cylinders ) This is a debatable point though.
- Almost zero turbo lag with stock turbo.

The VR6 is delivers smooth power, thought.
McLovin08

LOL at McLovin!
His 1.8T pro's are correct except the cost figure. Im a dealer tech and id have to say the 1.8T has a higher cost to maintain then the VR6.
The VR6 is pretty much bullet proof. Has Timing Chains, not a belt like the 1.8T which can cost around $1,000 at the dealer for a T-Belt service with Water Pump.
The 02-04 1.8T has 180hp and is lighter. The VR6 with the engine code AFP has 174HP. The newer VR6 with Engine code BDF (you can tell by the cover over the engine, the newer one is large and black and covers all except the very front of the intake manifold. The old style shows the spark plug wires over the cover.) has 200HP.
IMO if you can find a VR6 Jetta (GLX) with the newer BDF in it, grab that! Hardly any problems at all with that power train!
Good luck!
Alicia L

The "LITTLE engine run kind of sounds" you're describing is the turbo spooling on the 1.8T

Since the VR6 does not have a turbo, you will not hear this sound.
The VR6 will be more reliable in the long run as you wont ever have to replace a turbo, and it will deliver plenty of power.
superqualified
