Any ideas what the Volkswagen Beetle will look like in 30 years?

Question 1
Any ideas what the Volkswagen Beetle will look like in 30 years?...  I am doing a school project and I have to design what the volkswagen beetle will look like in 30 years? Can anybody help me with some ideas? I'm not really into cars!

Answers
1)   Hopefully they won't be around in 30 years - TOYOTA SUCKS

2)   Perhaps powered by alternative sources so it'll definitely look different. I don't know..futuristic? Different colours, maybe even smaller to use up less fuel. - Indy

3)   Rusty. - Bazza

4)   About the same will still look like a goldfish with a bad case of the shi*s - chewbaka87

5)   Hopefully they'll stop calling that monstrosity a Beetle and bring back a real Beetle. They made them right the first time and hopefully VW will take a lesson from themselves. - 63V-Dub

Question 2
some questions about old VW bugs?...  I'm close to getting my first car a 1974 vw super beetle and i really really want it. scratch that;NEED it. but my mom and her bf are trying to talk me out of it. they say it is a tin can on wheels. they say it has no power steering,no heat or air conditioning, if I get in a crash id deff die, and i would hate driving it. they want me to get something newer, but i have certain taste and i love the older cars.So i want to know if any of this is true? would i really hate driving it?
what are the pros and cons?
and also that they brakes down a lot

Answers
1)   The Super Beetle has heat, but it isn't very good. They are underpowered, and not the sturdiest so, yes, you might get dead in a crash. They do look cool but, trust me, they are pretty rough cars to live with. - Flying Spaghetti Monster

2)   I LOVED my ol' 61 vw!

It was FUN to drive, easy to maneuver around, and hardly cost anything in gas!
Beep! Beep! ...lol - Trilinie Sarah S

3)   They are fun and easy to drive
You don't need power steering because they don't weight that much.
The heat is weak, but you can get AC for them, and new AC is only $1500 complete.

As far as safety, there is no safer car.
That is because the trunk in the front is empty, and is one huge shock absorber.
Plus the pan on the bottom was designed for off road military us, so is incredibly strong.
One of the first unibody systems, and way over designed.

They almost never break down because they are not only kept very simple, but they are intended to be easily worked on.
Since it was intended for the military, everything could easily be replaced.
And since they were built for so many decades, with little change, there are tons of good quality parts available from inexpensive 3rd party stores. You don't need to go to the dealer for anything.

The biggest complaint is that is is not that powerful.
It can drive at highway speeds all right. But acceleration is not tremendous.

Another plus is that they are becoming more and more collectible, so in 10 years you could sell it for much more than you paid for it. - Motorhead

4)   Hi, my first ( and still fave ) car was a 58 Beetle. 12 years on I still have it.....sadly not registered any more. Yes they are down on certain luxuries but the sheer pleasure of driving something you love makes up for it. They do have a heater and because they have quarter vents its easy to get good air flow in summer. Parts are easy to come by and although they are small they are solid! No plastic to crumple! Like any old car they have the potential to break down but do your research and find one that has been well loved and you will be fine. They are not the most powerful cars on the road but surely for an inexperienced driver, lack of speed is not a bad thing. My final piece of advice would be to find yourself an experienced VW mechanic, the biggest problems I had with mine were caused by dodgy mechanics who did not know beetles. - C8B

1)   go to a local mehanic, dont go to a dealer they rip you off - Lucas Nichols
